FULL POEM:
Cabin Fever
by JOSHUA J. ROSSY
In the suns distant rising rays
Stands still the creation of our hallowed place
Here
Radiant walls still sing stories
Of reflected shimmers from your faraway face
Wow
Their vibrant lyrics mirror the whispers of your name
How long will they wait
For what we’ve created
Still has days and days
And days
Towards the thought of light
It’s my turn to lead the way
In between reflections
Where minds escape
With covered eyes
Thoughts drop like echoes
Of an alternative place
Your words are blind
But uncover the trapped sun
My actions now
Are flowing waters
Enduring and overrun
Leaving now the night awaits
Falling into placed pieces ahead of my hesitant gaze
Closed fists and widen breast
The current is here
And we try to feel time
Before pale beginnings
Without knowing we’ve been there
Only to witness the heavens splitting
Are we drowning in my unwilling patient grip
Because I am expected to show up
In moments
In moments like this
Are we drowning?
